The Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai

The Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai is best known for one hole. The par-3 13th is built in the shape of the United Arab Emirates. Its island fairway and green sit in the middle of a lake, surrounded by a 360-degree teeing area, so the hole can be played from almost any angle. It's one of the most distinctive holes in Middle East golf.

The course was designed by European golf great Colin Montgomerie and opened in 2002 in Emirates Hills, about 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport. The 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course covers 265 acres, with 81 bunkers, numerous lakes, 123 acres of turf and 93 acres of landscaped gardens. It's consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the region, and it rewards smart play from the tee and precise approach shots.

The practice and social facilities are extensive. There's a driving range, a pitch-and-putt practice area, a world-class swing studio and a 9-hole par-3 academy course for sharpening your short game. Four restaurants and lounges include Monty's and Monty Cristo's, and accommodation is available on site. The club is open every day from early morning until midnight.

Emirates Hills is one of Dubai's most prestigious neighbourhoods, and the Montgomerie sits among its villas and lakes, a peaceful green setting close to Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lake Towers.
