Glenmarie Golf & Country Club

Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Shah Alam is one of the Klang Valley's most popular 36-hole golf venues, close to Subang Airport, Petaling Jaya and the Federal Highway. Both of its courses, the Valley and the Garden, were designed by Max Wexler and opened in 1993, and the location makes it easy to reach from Kuala Lumpur for an early tee time or an after-work round.

The Valley Course was renovated by Ted and Geoff Parslow in 2009. From the black tees the par-72 layout stretches to about 7,013 yards, with a course rating of 73.8 and a slope of 135. The valley setting brings elevation and water into play, and Bermuda Tifway 419 fairways with Mini Verde greens provide consistent, high-quality surfaces.

The Garden Course is the more demanding of the pair on paper. The par-72 layout measures about 6,404 metres from the black tees, with a course rating of 74.0 and a slope of 137. Landscaped gardens, water hazards and well-guarded greens call for precision rather than power, and its Tifway 419 fairways and Tifdwarf greens are kept in good condition year-round. Four tee options on the courses let golfers of every level choose their challenge.

Glenmarie is a full country club. There is a driving range and a golf school with teaching professionals, and golf carts, pull carts, caddies and club rental are available. Members and guests can also enjoy swimming, billiards, a fitness centre and squash. Walking is permitted, metal spikes are not, and proper golfing attire of collared shirts, golf trousers and golf shoes is compulsory.

It is a favourite for corporate golf days and regular weekend games. With CoGolfers, you can host golf games at Glenmarie and invite members of the CoGolfers community, or join golf games other players have posted. Find golf partners, meet golfers in Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur, connect with golfers near you and enjoy both courses with new golf buddies.
