About Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club
Set on the waterfront of Kota Kinabalu facing the South China Sea, Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club is a 27-hole resort facility designed by Australian golfer and architect Graham Marsh and opened in 1998. The club is built around three nines, the Lake, Heritage and Garden courses, which are combined into 18-hole rounds of par 72, with each nine playing to par 36.
Waterways cross much of the site, and Marsh used them together with strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens to shape the challenge. The Heritage nine's 6th hole, a par 3 of around 184 metres, asks for a solid carry over water to a heavily bunkered green, while the Garden nine features a short par 4 with ocean views and sandy waste areas. Fairways are Bermuda 419 and the greens are Bermuda Tifdwarf, and floodlit night golf is offered.
The practice set-up is extensive, with a driving range, putting green, chipping and bunker practice areas and The Golf Academy Borneo for coaching. The club sits within the wider Sutera Harbour resort, which includes a marina, spa, swimming, fitness facilities, restaurants and accommodation, and it is only a short drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, making it a practical choice for visitors and local players alike.
With three nines to mix and match, Sutera Harbour suits regular social golf in Kota Kinabalu. Use CoGolfers to host golf games here and invite players from the CoGolfers community, or join golf games that other golfers in Kota Kinabalu have already set up. It is an easy way to find golf partners, meet golfers visiting Sabah and connect with golfers near you for your next round by the sea.
