Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai

Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai, formerly listed as Karambunai Resorts Golf Club, is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course on the coast north of Kota Kinabalu, about 30 km from the city. The layout was designed by Ronald Fream and David Dale of Golfplan, with Tim Lobb also credited, and it runs between jungle and the South China Sea shoreline.

From the back tees the course measures around 6,200 yards, and GolfPass records a rating of 71.3 and a slope of 124. That moderate length, combined with wide greens and multiple tee options from gold to red, makes it approachable for golfers of most levels, while sea breezes and the tropical setting add interest. Ocean views, rolling fairways and dense jungle surrounds define the round.

Golf carts are included in the green fee and caddies and rental clubs are available. There is a driving range, practice bunker, pitching and chipping area and putting green, along with a clubhouse, lounge, spa and locker rooms. The wider resort offers accommodation with sea or fairway views, restaurants, a swimming pool, tennis courts and beach access, so it works well as a stay-and-play base on Sabah's west coast.
