About Royal Selangor Golf Club
Royal Selangor Golf Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf clubs in Asia, set just off Jalan Tun Razak in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. Few cities can offer anything like it: two full 18-hole championship courses and the 9-hole Suleiman Course on a single city-centre property, with the Kuala Lumpur skyline as a backdrop.
The Old Course is the heart of the club and dates back to its early years at the current site in the 1920s. Renovated by Nelson & Haworth in 2008, this par-72 parkland layout stretches to about 6,981 yards from the black tees, with a course rating of 73.5 and a slope of 128. Mature trees line the fairways, and the classic design rewards accuracy and thoughtful approach play.
Despite its name, the New Course opened in 1931, making it one of the oldest golf courses in Malaysia. Nelson & Haworth redesigned it in 2008 as well, and the par-72 layout measures about 6,897 yards from the black tees, with a course rating of 73.3 and a slope of 130. Tree-lined fairways and well-bunkered greens give it a traditional parkland character.
Facilities are extensive: a driving range, golf academy with teaching professionals, pitching and chipping area and putting green, plus swimming, billiards, a fitness centre, tennis and squash. Golf carts, pull carts, caddies and club rental are available, walking is permitted and a dress code applies.
As a private club, Royal Selangor is a special place for members and their guests. With CoGolfers, members can host golf games on either course and invite guests from the CoGolfers community, while other golfers can join the community to find golf partners, meet golfers in Kuala Lumpur and connect with golfers near you. It is a great way to grow your golf network and enjoy historic city golf with new golf buddies.
