Gunung Raya Golf Resort

Set at the foothills of Gunung Raya, Langkawi's highest peak, Gunung Raya Golf Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course near Kisap on the island's eastern side. Golfasian notes that the layout was designed by Max Wexler and spreads across some 300 acres of former rubber plantation land, which gives the course its rolling, tree-framed character.

The course opened in 2001 and plays to 6,377 yards from the black tees, with a course rating of 72.8 and a slope of 128, so it asks for accurate driving despite its moderate length. Blue, White and Red tees make the layout manageable for a wide range of abilities. Mountain views are a constant companion, and the higher ground provides panoramic scenery over the surrounding countryside.

Facilities cover the essentials. Carts are included in the green fee according to GolfPass, rental clubs are available, and there is a driving range and putting green for warming up. After the round, the clubhouse offers a restaurant, snacks, showers and locker rooms. The course is open year-round and asks for appropriate golf attire.
