About 99 East Golf Club Langkawi
99 East Golf Club Langkawi is a 9-hole, par-36 course on Langkawi that grew out of the former Langkawi Golf Club. Australian architect Ross Watson reworked the site, and Golfasian describes the old club as having been reborn as 99 East after major earthworks and landscaping. The course reopened under its new name in 2012 and sits on land between Pantai Cenang and Kuah town, roughly ten minutes from Langkawi International Airport.
The layout has a links-style feel, with Zeon Zoysia fairways and Bermuda TifEagle greens. From the Copper tees the nine measures 3,665 yards, and Golden, Silver and Jade tees offer shorter options. That makes it long enough to be a real test for a nine-hole round, while still suiting golfers who want a quick game before or after a day at the beach.
Practice facilities include a driving range, a practice bunker and a putting green, and there is a teaching professional on staff. Walking is allowed, singles are welcome, and carts, pull carts, caddies and rental clubs are all available. The clubhouse has a restaurant and locker rooms.
Because it is close to the island's main tourist areas, 99 East is an easy place to arrange a casual game.
