About Ayer Keroh Country Club
Established in 1964, Ayer Keroh Country Club is one of the oldest golf venues in Melaka. According to the state tourism portal, the course was carved out of virgin jungle and designed by Tun Dr. Ghafar Baba, and golfers still share the layout with birds, monkeys and monitor lizards.
The club has 27 holes arranged as three par-36 nines, Tunku's Nine, Governor's Nine and Ghafar's Nine, which combine into 18-hole rounds of par 72. The nines are on the long side: Tunku's Nine measures 3,719 yards from the black tees and Governor's Nine 3,618 yards, so a full round from the back plays well over 7,000 yards. Fairways are cow grass and the greens Tifdwarf, and the mature jungle setting gives the course a tree-lined, traditional feel.
Facilities include a driving range and practice areas, a putting green, a teaching professional, caddies and club rentals, with carts included in the green fee. Off the course there is a clubhouse with a bar and restaurant, a sauna, a swimming pool, and tennis and squash courts. Normal golfing attire is required.
With its long history and three nines to rotate between, Ayer Keroh Country Club suits a regular weekly game.
