Yas Links Abu Dhabi

Yas Links Abu Dhabi has been ranked the number one golf course in the Middle East every year since 2012. It's also in the world's top 100, and it's widely described as the only true links-style course in the region. It sits on the western shore of Yas Island, across the highway from the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit.

Kyle Phillips, the architect behind Kingsbarns in Scotland, designed the course, which took more than three years to build. The 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches to around 7,450 yards over rolling, dune-like terrain planted with mangroves. Every hole has a view of the sea, and eight are built right along the coastline, where wind becomes a big part of the challenge. Fairways run fast and the greens are firm and true, so links skills like the bump-and-run are rewarded. Golf Magazine USA named it one of the Top 10 New International Golf Courses.

It's also one of the best-value top-100 courses in the world. Facilities include a driving range and practice area, a golf academy, a 9-hole par-3 course, a pro shop and restaurants overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Cart and equipment rental is available. The course is open daily, and it's a short drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

For anyone visiting Abu Dhabi, Yas Links is the golf course to play.
