About Miri Golf Club
Miri Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Malaysia, with its history traced back to 1910, and its first holes linked to the early oilfield days of Miri. Located on a sandbar between the Miri River and the South China Sea, about 15 minutes from Miri city centre, it is one of the few links-style courses in East Malaysia.
The 18-hole, par-72 course measures about 6,828 yards from the back tees, with a rating of 73.3 and a slope of 131. The front nine runs alongside the sea and the back nine borders the river. The land is flat, so water hazards and bunkers provide much of the challenge, and tall casuarina pines line the fairways and offer shade. The signature par-3 12th is only about 150 yards but has water in front of the green. One reviewer called it a challenging links course that is enjoyable to walk.
The club has a driving range open to the public, a putting green and a teaching professional, and carts and rental clubs are available. The clubhouse offers catering and a terrace café, changing rooms, conference facilities, billiards and swimming pools for adults and children. Members enjoy reciprocal arrangements with other clubs.
