IOI Palm Villa Golf & Country Resort

IOI Palm Villa Golf & Country Resort in Bandar Putra, Kulai, is a 27-hole golf venue made up of three nines, the Palm, Putra and IOI courses. Designed by American architect Rick Robbins, it opened in 1998 and is located north of Johor Bahru, within easy reach of Senai and the North-South Expressway.

Each nine can be paired with another to create an 18-hole round of par 72. The IOI and Putra combination, for example, measures about 6,101 metres from the blue tees and carries a course rating of 73.2 with a slope of 128. The layout is lined with native palm trees, and golfers get views towards Gunung Pulai from parts of the course. Greens are Bermuda Tifdwarf, and there are three sets of tees on each nine.

Carts are included in the green fee and caddies are available. Practice facilities include a driving range and putting green. The resort side of Palm Villa offers a clubhouse with conference and banquet facilities, locker rooms, a swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a fitness centre, billiards, restaurants and a children's playground, so it is well suited to families and corporate golf days.
