About Cameron Highlands Golf Club
Cameron Highlands Golf Club in Tanah Rata dates back to 1935 and is one of the most distinctive places to play in Peninsular Malaysia. Sitting at around 5,000 feet, the 18-hole, par-71 public course offers the rare pleasure of tropical golf in genuinely cool weather, surrounded by the tea country and hill-station scenery the Cameron Highlands are known for.
The course measures about 6,101 metres from the blue tees. Fairways are cow grass and the greens are Serangoon grass, and the highland terrain brings its own mix of sloping lies and elevation changes. Walking is allowed, so many visitors take the chance to stroll the course in the fresh mountain air, while carts, pull carts and caddies are available for those who prefer to ride or want help reading the greens. Appropriate golf attire is required.
Beyond the course there is a driving range, a clubhouse with lockers, and a restaurant and bar. The club also offers swimming, billiards, tennis and badminton. Its location in Tanah Rata puts it close to the town's hotels and eateries, making it an easy addition to a highland holiday.
