Kanmon Kikukawa Golf Club

Kanmon Kikukawa Golf Club, formerly known as Yamaguchi Rainbow Hills Kanmonkikugawa Golf Club, is a semi-private course in Kikugawa-cho, Shimonoseki, that opened in 1979 and stretches 6,506 yards with a course rating of 73.1 and slope of 123. The layout features bent and korai grass greens, along with a driving range, golf simulator, and indoor practice areas, giving golfers year-round options to work on their game regardless of the weather. Walking is permitted, and the course maintains a dress code prohibiting t-shirts, jerseys, jeans, and sandals, in keeping with traditional Japanese club standards. The club's name references the Kanmon Straits, the narrow waterway separating Honshu from Kyushu near Shimonoseki, giving the course a connection to this historically significant maritime crossing. Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi's largest city, is known for its fugu (pufferfish) cuisine and its role in Japanese history at the western tip of Honshu. For CoGolfers members visiting Shimonoseki, Kanmon Kikukawa Golf Club offers a convenient round with genuinely modern practice facilities, and the CoGolfers app can help connect visiting golfers with local players in this historic gateway city.
