About Sengari Country Club
Sengari Country Club has operated in Sanda city, in the hills north of Kobe, since 1965, designed by Joe E. Crane and stretching to 6,561 yards from the black tees with tee options ranging down to 4,503 yards. Crane, whose family design credits also appear at the historically significant Naruo Golf Club and Nishinomiya Kogen Golf Club, brought that same design lineage to this course in the Omichigahira district of Sanda. Sanda has become one of the most popular golf and residential corridors north of Kobe, valued for its cooler elevation compared to the dense city below, and Sengari's six-decade operating history places it among the more established clubs in that now-crowded corridor. The wide range of tee options, spanning over 2,000 yards between the shortest and longest markers, makes the course genuinely accommodating for mixed-ability groups. Sanda's proximity to the historic Arima Onsen hot spring district gives golfers a natural post-round activity option. Having operated since the mid-1960s, the course carries the mature, tree-lined character typical of Japan's first major golf construction boom. Golfers interested in Joe E. Crane's design legacy through CoGolfers can add Sengari Country Club to a tour of his Hyogo-area courses.
