The Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club (GBGC), established in the mid-1990s by the Baroda royal family, is Gujarat's oldest and only private golf course — and the only course in India wrapped around a living, 125-year-old palace, the Laxmi Vilas Palace. Designed by Ranjit Nanda, the 18-hole, par-72 layout spans 6,700 yards with sharp doglegs, narrow fairways, and mature tamarind and neem trees demanding real accuracy off the tee, all set against palace views from every hole. Beyond golf, the club offers tennis, badminton, a gym, and a large pool, making it a full family sporting hub in the heart of Vadodara.
