About Al Hamra Golf Club
Al Hamra Golf Club weaves around four interconnected lagoons on the shores of the Arabian Gulf in Ras Al Khaimah. It's the emirate's best-known golf destination and ranks among the top ten golf courses in the UAE. Building it took a major engineering effort: about five million cubic metres of sand and soil were moved to shape the layout.
Peter Harradine designed the 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course, which opened in 2007 and measures about 7,325 yards from the back tees. Five tee options make it playable for every level, but water is never far away. The lagoons come into play on many holes, and the signature par-5 18th has water threatening you from tee to green, a dramatic finish right in front of the clubhouse.
Facilities include a driving range and a 9-hole, par-3 academy course with floodlit night golf, ideal for evening play or sharpening your short game. Dining options include Pesto Restaurant for international cuisine and The Bay Sports Bar, and there's a fitness centre and accommodation. The course is open daily with groups of up to four.
Al Hamra is about 30 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and an easy drive from Dubai, so it's a popular golf getaway for UAE residents and visitors staying in RAK's beach resorts.
It's also a great place for a golf weekend with friends. On CoGolfers, you can host golf games at Al Hamra Golf Club and invite members of the CoGolfers community, or join golf games other golfers have organised. Find golf partners, meet golfers in Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai and connect with golfers near you. Join the community to plan social golf trips and enjoy the lagoons with new golf buddies.
