About Fraser's Hill Golf Club
Fraser's Hill Golf Club, known in Malay as Padang Golf Bukit Fraser, is a nine-hole, par-32 course in the centre of the Fraser's Hill hill station, about 1,500 metres above sea level. Built in 1925 and designed by British engineer Frank Hemmant, it is regarded as one of the oldest golf courses in Malaysia.
The course is public and walking-only: golf buggies are not used, which preserves its historic character. Holes wind through the highland setting with challenging sections and forest scenery all around, and the cool mountain climate makes a round here very different from golf in the lowlands. Fairways are narrow in places and some tee boxes are shared between holes, so it plays as a short, characterful test rather than a championship venue. An earlier 18-hole championship course at Fraser's Hill is no longer in play.
Reception is next to the entrance of the Sports Complex, opposite the town's well-known clock tower, and a small café with a terrace view is available there. The course is operated by the Fraser's Hill Development Corporation, and the town's shops, restaurants and accommodation are all close by.
A walk around this heritage course is a fine way to spend a morning in the hills with friends. On CoGolfers you can host golf games at Fraser's Hill, invite members of the CoGolfers community, or join golf games others have planned for a highland weekend. Meet golfers who love classic courses, find golf partners and connect with golf buddies for your next trip up the hill.
