About Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club
In the oasis city of Al Ain, golf is just one of many sports at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club. Horse riding, shooting and rugby share the grounds with an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course and a 9-hole, par-36 academy course. It's a genuinely unique sports destination in the UAE.
The course began as a 9-hole layout before growing into its current 18-hole championship design. Water is the defining feature, coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes. The standout is the 10th, a huge par 5 of about 678 yards that the club claims is the longest hole in the Arabian Gulf region. Plan your three shots carefully and you'll be rewarded; try to overpower it and the water will punish you.
The 9-hole academy course is floodlit for evening play, and a driving range supports practice. Off the course there's a golf academy, a fitness centre, swimming pools, tennis courts and a shooting range, along with accommodation. The Palm Greens restaurant serves international food with views over the course, and the Ambler Bar & Restaurant offers casual golf club dining.
The club is in the Al Maqam area near Tawam Roundabout. It's open daily, with groups of up to four golfers.
