Southern Hills Golf & Country Club

Southern Hills Golf & Country Club rises out of a lush valley near Hat Yai, surrounded by hills covered in dense vegetation. Opened in 1999 and designed by American architect Perry O. Dye, it's widely regarded as one of the best golf courses in southern Thailand.

Dye made full use of the site's natural features, combining the abundance of water from streams and lakes with hilly terrain to create a challenging, world-class layout. The 18-hole, par-72 course stretches to around 7,045 yards from the black tees, and elevation changes and water hazards call for thoughtful shot-making throughout.

The scenery is a highlight. Elevated tees and green sites open up views across the valley, making it a memorable round even on days when the scorecard doesn't cooperate.

Facilities include a driving range, practice putting green, pro shop and a restaurant serving Thai and European food. The club is on Kanchanavanich Road in Ban Phru, convenient for golfers based in Hat Yai and visitors from neighbouring Malaysia.
