Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort in Pasir Gudang, Johor's main industrial port town, sits on the Straits of Johor about 35 minutes from the Singapore Causeway. It offers two contrasting 18-hole, par-72 championship courses, the Plantation and the Straits, and brings a full stay-and-play resort experience within easy reach of both Johor Bahru and Singapore.

The Plantation Course is the signature layout. Designed by Max Wexler and opened in November 1992, it was built on undulating land that was once a palm oil plantation, and preserved oil palms and fruit trees still line the holes. It measures about 6,454 metres from the blue tees with a course rating of 73.5, and the resort describes it as a course favoured by professional golfers. The Straits Course, designed by Akira Mamiya, follows the shoreline and is the more exposed of the two. Mangrove swamps border several holes, and golfers contend with rolling terrain, rocky outcrops and prevailing sea breezes that change how the course plays from day to day. It measures about 6,163 metres from the blue tees, with a course rating of 71.2 and a slope of 128, and its wide fairways reward long hitters who can use the wind. Carts are required on the Straits, which is also home to what the resort describes as the only dedicated 18-hole FootGolf course in Malaysia.

Both courses have Zoysia matrella fairways and Bermuda Tifdwarf greens. Practice facilities include a driving range, pitching and chipping area, putting green and a practice hole, with a teaching professional on hand, and carts, caddies and rental clubs are available. The resort adds hotel rooms, several dining venues, an Olympic-size swimming pool, spa services and event spaces.
