About Kulim Golf & Country Resort
Kulim Golf & Country Resort sits inside Kulim Hi-Tech Park in southern Kedah and offers an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Mike Poellot and opened in 1999. The resort originally had 27 holes, but GolfPass lists the West Course as closed, so today's golf is played on the North/East combination. Golf.com.my notes that it is about 40 minutes from Penang airport.
The North/East course plays to 6,677 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 72.0 and a slope of 130, and forward tees shorten it to 5,691 yards. Golf.com.my highlights the panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. Fairways are Bermuda Greenlees Park and greens are Bermuda Tiff-Dwarf.
The club has a driving range, a putting green and a teaching professional, and both carts and pull carts are available, with walking allowed. The resort facilities are extensive: a clubhouse with lounge and banquet rooms, sauna, jacuzzi, locker rooms, swimming pool, billiards, gym, tennis and squash. The dress code asks for collared shirts with sleeves. The Poellot design combined with the resort's wide range of sports makes it a place where golfers and their families can easily spend a full day.
For people working in Kulim Hi-Tech Park or living nearby, the course is a convenient place for after-work and weekend golf.
