About Kudat Golf & Marina Resort
Kudat Golf & Marina Resort, whose course is also known as Kudat Golf Club, lies in the town of Kudat near the northern tip of Borneo, around 160 km north of Kota Kinabalu. The club dates back to 1906, which gives it one of the longest histories in the state, and today it offers an 18-hole, par-72 course alongside a marina resort.
The course has two distinct characters. The original inland nine, now played as the back nine, is a vintage design of about 3,075 metres with natural earth mounding, surrounded by buildings and homes. The newer front nine, at about 3,005 metres, circles the shore of Marudu Bay with views of the sea and the Bengkoka Peninsula, and uses substantial bunkers and water hazards. From the black tees the course has a rating of 71.9 and a slope of 133.
Practice facilities include a driving range lit for evening use, practice bunkers and a putting green, and carts and caddies are listed. The adjacent resort provides restaurant service and accommodation, and there are facilities for swimming, billiards, fitness and volleyball. It makes a good stop for golfers exploring Sabah's northern coast.
