Putra Golf Club

Putra Golf Club is the main golf course in Perlis, Malaysia's smallest state, and sits about ten minutes from the centre of Kangar. Opened in 1970, it is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course and is the go-to venue for golfers in the far north of the peninsula.

The course is long. From the blue tees it measures 6,983 metres, and even the white tees play 6,446 metres, both at par 72. Water hazards, bunkers and ponds are part of the challenge, and the greens are described locally as testing. Greens are Bermuda Tifway grass with cow grass fairways, and the landscape is green and well kept. Walking is allowed for golfers who prefer to play on foot.

The club is private but welcomes guests. Golf carts and caddies are available, and there is a driving range and putting green for warming up. The clubhouse has changing and locker rooms, and the bar and restaurant are a comfortable spot after the round. Credit cards are accepted.
