About Royal Perak Golf Club
Royal Perak Golf Club in Ipoh is one of the oldest and most respected golf clubs in Malaysia. Originally established as the Ipoh Golf Club, it grew from nine holes to a full 18 by 1932 and today plays as an 18-hole, par-72 championship course set among rolling hills and tropical greenery.
From the blue tees the course stretches to 6,376 metres, with a course rating of 73.6 and a slope of 136, which makes it one of the tougher tests in northern Malaysia. The White and Red tees shorten the layout for mid-handicappers and ladies, but the undulating terrain and mature trees keep every set of tees interesting. The club's championship pedigree is real: Royal Perak has hosted events on the Omega Tour and the Australian Tour.
The club is semi-private but open to visitors. Caddies, golf carts and rental clubs are available, and practice facilities include a driving range and a golf academy for lessons. Off the course, members and guests have access to a restaurant, swimming pool, fitness centre, tennis courts and billiards.
