The Els Club Desaru Coast - Valley Course

The Valley Course is the 18-hole, par-72 companion to the Ocean Course at The Els Club Desaru Coast, on the south-eastern tip of Johor about 75 kilometres east of Johor Bahru. Designed by Ernie Els in collaboration with Vijay Singh and Greg Letsche, it opened in 2016 as a largely new design.

The Valley is a mix of tree-lined and open parkland holes set across undulating terrain. It is a big course: from the black tees it stretches to about 7,854 yards, with a course rating of 75.0 and a slope of 141, while the silver, copper and jade tees offer much more manageable lengths. For most golfers, choosing the right set of tees is the first strategic decision of the day.

Carts with GPS are standard, club rentals are available, and fivesomes are permitted. The practice facilities include a driving range and pitching, chipping and putting areas, and the golf school academy has teaching professionals on hand. The Valley has its own modern clubhouse with a restaurant, meeting facilities and locker rooms, with a shuttle service to the Desaru Coast resort hotels. Golf is played year-round.
