About Black Forest Golf & Country Club
Right beside the Malaysia-Thailand border, Black Forest Golf & Country Club sits in the Bukit Kayu Hitam free trade zone in the far north of Kedah. It is an 18-hole, par-72 public course that opened in 1996, and golf.com.my notes that it is about 45 minutes from Hat Yai, so it draws golfers from both sides of the border.
From the back tees the course measures 7,110 yards, making it one of the longer layouts in the state. It is set among former rubber and sugar cane plantations with stretches of forest around the property, and golf.com.my describes the course as open to the public daily. Fairways are Bermuda Tifway 419 and the greens are Bermuda Tifdwarf.
Practice facilities are generous for a border-town course: a driving range, a chipping area, a putting green and even a practice hole. Carts, caddies and rental clubs are available, and the clubhouse has a restaurant, snacks and locker rooms. The dress code asks for proper golf attire, with collared shirts and long pants for men.
Black Forest is a good meeting point for golfers from northern Kedah, Perlis and southern Thailand. On CoGolfers, you can host golf games at Black Forest Golf & Country Club and invite players from across the CoGolfers community, or join golf games already on the calendar. Meet golfers in Bukit Kayu Hitam, find golf partners for a long round, and build a golf group of regular golf buddies.
