Bukit Banang Golf & Country Club

Set in Bandar Banang Jaya on the edge of Batu Pahat, Bukit Banang Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course that opened in 1992. It was designed by Michael Coate and is one of the more demanding tests of golf on Johor's west coast, with a course rating of 72.8 and a slope of 132 from the back tees.

From the tips the course stretches to about 6,304 metres, roughly 6,896 yards, so longer hitters get a proper workout while forward tees keep it manageable for everyday golfers. Fairways are Bermuda grass and the greens are Bermuda Tifdwarf. Golf carts and pull carts are both available, and walking is permitted for those who prefer to play on foot.

Bukit Banang places a strong emphasis on practice and improvement, with a driving range, a golf school academy and teaching professionals on site. The country club side includes a clubhouse, sauna, locker rooms, a bar and snacks, along with swimming, a fitness centre, tennis, badminton, squash and billiards. The club has a dress code that rules out round-neck shirts, jeans and beach or jogging shorts.
