About A'Famosa Golf Resort
A'Famosa Golf Resort in Alor Gajah is a 27-hole resort venue designed by Australian golf course architect Ross Watson and opened in 1992. The golf sits within the wider A'Famosa resort in the north of Melaka state, and the Melaka tourism portal notes that the course has won awards as one of Malaysia's best resort courses.
The 27 holes are split into three par-36 nines named Crocodile, Palm and Rocky, which are paired to create 18-hole rounds of par 72. Each nine measures a little over 3,100 metres from the back tees, with the Crocodile nine carrying a slope of 138 from the tips, making it the most demanding of the three on paper. Water comes into play prominently on the Palm nine, while the Rocky nine rates slightly easier. Fairways are Bermuda grass and the greens are Tifdwarf, and golf is played year-round.
Practice and support facilities are comprehensive: a driving range, putting green, golf academy with teaching professionals, club rentals, carts and caddies. The clubhouse has a restaurant, banquet facilities and locker rooms. The dress code excludes jeans, collarless T-shirts, tracksuits and jogging shorts, and walking and single players are permitted.
Because the resort combines three nines, groups can mix and match rounds, which makes A'Famosa a flexible choice for social golf weekends in Alor Gajah. On CoGolfers you can host golf games at A'Famosa and invite players from the CoGolfers community, or join golf games that others have already set up. It's an easy way to find golf partners, meet golfers in Melaka and grow a regular group of golf buddies.
