Zao Country Club

Zao Country Club has offered golfers in Yamagata City a semi-private, par-72 round since 1958, making it one of the longest-established clubs in the prefecture. The 18-hole course features three tee options ranging from 5,317 to 6,336 yards, giving golfers of different abilities a way to tailor the challenge to their own game. Caddies are available, along with a driving range, practice bunker, putting green, restaurant, and meeting facilities, rounding out a genuinely complete club experience. Unlike many seasonal courses elsewhere in Yamagata, Zao operates year-round and welcomes public play alongside its members. Named after the nearby Mount Zao, a well-known regional landmark, the course benefits from its scenic mountain setting. Golfers in Yamagata City can use CoGolfers to find co-players for a round at Zao Country Club and connect with the local golf community.
