About Seitanomori Kitakyushu Golf Course
Seitanomori Kitakyushu Golf Course opened in 1997 in Kitakyushu's Yahatanishi ward as a public facility, playing 6,426 yards from the back tees and 6,016 yards from the regular tees with a 70.7 rating and 121 slope. Being public rather than semi-private or private, the course tends to welcome walk-up visitors more readily than several of Kitakyushu's other clubs, and it offers golf carts, a driving range, golf simulator, and indoor practice facilities, useful during the region's wetter months, along with a putting green. Walking is permitted, and the course accepts a wide range of credit cards including JCB, Visa, DC, American Express, and Mastercard. The course name references the area's former coal-mining heritage, seitan meaning coal in Japanese, and Kitakyushu more broadly grew into one of Japan's major industrial centers on the strength of its coal and steel industries through much of the twentieth century. Being one of the newer public courses in the Kitakyushu area, Seitanomori benefits from more contemporary drainage and course construction than several of the region's older private and semi-private clubs. Golfers visiting Kitakyushu for its industrial heritage sites through CoGolfers can add a convenient public round here, and it is a good option for visitors without an existing club connection in the city.
