About Ibaraki Kokusai Golf Club
Ibaraki Kokusai Golf Club, originally built in 1960 and redesigned by Jacobson Golf Course Design in 2013, operates three nine-hole courses named East, North, and West in Ibaraki city, each playing to a par of 36 over bent grass greens and combining in pairs for full eighteen-hole rounds. The East nine plays 3,182 yards from the back tees, the North nine 3,360 yards, and the West nine 3,130 yards, giving the semi-private club a total of 27 holes and a genuinely wide range of possible eighteen-hole combinations depending on which two nines are paired for a given round. The 2013 redesign by the Jacobson firm, the same studio behind World Country Golf Club elsewhere in Osaka prefecture, brought more contemporary green complexes and bunkering to a layout with roots going back over six decades. Facilities include golf carts, GPS units, caddies, club rentals, a driving range, and a putting green, giving visiting golfers a full set of amenities regardless of which nine-hole pairing they play. Ibaraki city has developed into one of Osaka's more concentrated golf districts, also home to Aigawa Golf Course, Ibaraki Country Club, and Ibaraki Kogen Country Club within a short distance, making it possible to play several genuinely different courses in a single trip to the area. The kokusai, or international, name reflects a common branding choice among Japanese clubs from the 1960s golf boom era. Golfers touring Ibaraki's golf cluster through CoGolfers can add Ibaraki Kokusai to the list, and the community is a good place to find others planning the same multi-course visit.
