Chennai Golf Community

Chennai's golfing culture runs through clubs such as [Cosmopolitan Golf Club](https://cogolfers.com/golf-course/india/chennai/cosmopolitan-golf-club-tngf) and Army Palmgrove, where tradition and discipline shape how the game is played. The Chennai Golf Community on CoGolfers was created to extend that culture beyond club walls, giving golfers across the city a structured way to connect, play, and compete together. Through the community, members can create open games and invite others to join, browse games already posted by fellow Chennai golfers, and stay informed about tournaments as registration opens — rather than hearing about them secondhand. It consolidates what has traditionally depended on club membership and personal referrals into one accessible platform. For Chennai specifically, the value lies in bridging the gap between established club circles and golfers outside them — working professionals, newcomers to the city, or those simply looking to expand beyond their usual playing group. The community gives every member equal visibility, regardless of which club they're affiliated with. Members are expected to maintain accurate handicap information, honor confirmed tee times, and communicate promptly if plans change. The community is not a venue for marketing coaching services, golf equipment, or unrelated business offers — its purpose is strictly to connect golfers with golfers, consistent with the etiquette that defines the sport in this city. Chennai has no shortage of serious golfers or quality courses. What it has lacked is a simple, shared space to organize games across those circles. The Chennai Golf Community aims to be that space — structured, straightforward, and focused on getting more rounds played.
