Wellington Gymkhana Club
Location: Coonoor, India
Wellington Gymkhana Club, founded in 1873 near Coonoor in the Nilgiri Hills, is among India's oldest clubs — originally built as a garrison recreation facility, with the name "Wellington Gymkhana" adopted in 1916. Sitting at roughly 6,000 feet altitude, its 18-hole hill course spans 6,651 yards through valleys, streams, and natural bogs, framed by lush green tea-estate terrain and mist-covered hills. Close to the DSSC Staff College, the club offers a golf hut, restaurant, bar, pro shop, and cottages. As an Army-regulated club, access is primarily for members and their guests.
