Calcutta Ladies Golf Club
Location: Kolkata, India
Calcutta Ladies Golf Club (CLGC), founded on May 7, 1891 by twelve women including Lady Curzon and Lady Frazer, is the first golf club in the world built exclusively for women golfers. Set in the Maidan area of Kolkata and managed entirely by women, its charming 9-hole, par-34 course retains old-world elegance alongside amenities. CLGC organized India's first All India Ladies Amateur Golf Championship in 1905 and helped launch pioneers like Anjani Desai and Simi Mehra, India's first LPGA Tour player. Today it remains open to new members and welcomes guests. Looking to find golf partners in Kolkata? CLGC's community on CoGolfers makes it easy to join fellow women golfers, get matched to play with others for your next round, and never miss a chance to play tournaments hosted here.
